10 tips to avoid burnout.

1. Eat-sleep-relax, repeat

Listen to yourself. Really, there's nothing more difficult for us than take time for listening to our body and give it what it needs. In between deadlines and a fully booked schedule we forget how important our basic needs are.

2. No is no

We don't want to disappoint anyone. We rather give ourselves a hard time than ask someone for help. Try to say no, in a polite way when you have the feeling you're doing too much. Ask your husband to put the garbage outside. That colleague don't necessarily need you to do that specific task maybe. Learn to say no. Learn your own borders.

3. Create time for yourself

Listening to a friend her stories with a glass of wine and playing with the kids is not the same as me-time. Allow yourself to overthink your week when you make time for yourself. If you allow yourself 1 or 2 moments a week like this you will notice sleeping in at night will improove and your head feels more peaceful.

4. Who are you?

In order to say no, it is very important to know what you like and dislike. To know your own borders you need to know yourself. How to figure that out? Try as much new things, list them and talk about them.

5. Eat what you need

Since our society produces hand-made robots (yes, i'm talking about us), we forget how important it is to fill our body with vitamins and good stuff. A lot of our health problems start with an unhealthy diet. Even psychic problems can be caused by unhealthy food. So: eat green, feel green!

6. Push it, make it feel good

With this i mean your body and, more important, your brains. When you exercise on a regular base, serotonin and endorphin will flow more and a shortage on these two causes depression and other diseases.

7. De-stress

Stress is numbero uno that causes diseases. Stress is nevertheless unavoidable in our 24/24 society. But, the only person who can decide how much stress is coming in is you. Try to clear your head from time to time and if problems look unsolvable just make them even bigger in your fantasy. You'll realize there not the end of the world.

8. Speak up

When something is on your mind tell a person your thoughts. Not only you will feel better but you might give another person good feelings too by having conversations and ask one another their opinion. By hearing second thoughts you'll get smarter yourself and maybe make some wiser decisions.

9. Positive versus negative

Basically, in life there are two types of people. On one hand you have the, what i call, "pistons". They'll suck up your energy and leave a lonely and negative feeling. They feed themselves with your last straw of hope and bring fatigue, self-loathing and sadness. On the other hand there are the "fillers". Everything in life seems bright when those persons visit you, and everywhere they go they'll leave positive vibes. Surround yourself with that kind of people.

10. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is a mystery. Let loose!

In order to not overload yourself with stress, it's very imortant to love in this right moment. The now. Worrying about your past and future takes up way too much energy and there's no need to do it because you have no glass sphere. You can not control your future, neither can you change your past. So let go.

Seriously, let go.
